How the enclosures are built

Heating

Warm rooms heated round the clock, comfortable even in a St Petersburg frost

Water and drainage

Full mains water and drainage, so everything can be kept properly clean

Ventilation

A well-planned ventilation system: always fresh air, never a draught

Covered outdoor runs

A wooden floor and a roof keep off bad weather in winter and direct sun in summer

An active life

Shelves, climbing frames and exercise wheels keep the cats on the move

Males and females kept apart

They live in separate buildings, so there are no unplanned matings and no needless stress

How the cats live

Adult cats

Our males and females live in specially equipped enclosures with access to the outdoors. Warm indoor rooms open onto covered outdoor areas with wooden floors and a solid roof.

The cattery is 15 years old now, and over that time we have kept improving the way our cats live.

Queens with kittens

Mated queens and nursing mothers with their kittens live in the house with us and get extra attention and care.

This is where the kittens are socialised: they get to know the vacuum cleaner, the TV and the stairs, and have their first lessons in what's allowed and what isn't. They leave for their new homes well-mannered and vaccinated.
